 Spiti Valley

The Spiti Valley is a desert mountain valley located high in the Himalaya mountains in the north-eastern part of the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. The name “Spiti” means “The Middle Land”, i.e. the land between Tibet and India.

Spiti valley is accessible throughout year via Kinnaur from Shimla route on a difficult 412 km long road.Tourists from outside India need inner line permits to enter Spiti through Kinnaur. Due to high elevation one is likely to feel altitude sickness in Spiti.

Spiti valley is a research and cultural centre for Buddhists. Highlights include Ki Monastery and Tabo Monastery, one of the oldest monasteries in the world and a favourite of the Dalai Lama.

 Valley of Flowers Trek

Discovered by a British traveller named Frank Smith in the year 1931, the Valley Of Flowers is a heaven on earth.

All the adventurers and explorers trek through this fascinating valley that showcases a variety of flowers like saxifraga, sediams, lilies, poppy, calendula, daisies, geranium, zinnia and petunia. One can also spot a number of butterflies and other insects. Located amidst the Himalayas at an elevation of 3,858m, this place makes a perfect getaway for you and your best friend.

Dudhsagar Falls, Goa

Dudhsagar Falls  is a four-tiered waterfall located on the Mandovi River in the border of the Indian states of Karnataka and Goa. It is 60 km from Panaji by road and is located on the Madgaon-Belgaum rail route about 46 km east of Madgaonand 80 km south of Belgaum. Dudhsagar Falls is amongst India’s tallest waterfalls with a height of 310 m(1017 feet) and an average width of 30 metres (100 feet).

The falls is located in the Bhagwan Mahaveer Sanctuary and Mollem National Park among the Western Ghats. The waterfall forms the border between Karnataka and Goa states. The area is surrounded by a deciduous forests with a rich bio diversity. The falls are not particularly spectacular during the dry season but during the monsoon season however, the falls are fed by rains and form a huge force of water.

Beware that road access requires crossing tortuous high passes which close altogether from around October to May.

Desert of Jaisalmer 

The Jaisalmer state is a World Heritage Site and is popularly known as ‘The Golden City’. It lies in the heart of the Thar desert and also shares approximately 471 KM of its border with Pakistan.
